Event Highlight | Pitching Skills Workshop – The 12th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (15 May 2026)

On 15 May 2026, the Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) organized a “Pitching Skills Workshop” to support the finalists of the 12th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The workshop aimed to strengthen the finalists’ pitching capabilities by addressing common pitfalls, sharing proven best practices, and equipping participants with more effective pitching techniques for the finals.

Led by Mr. Kelvin Wong, Deputy Director of the KTO, the workshop placed particular emphasis on knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship development. With a dedicated focus on advancing how research outputs can be translated into tangible impact for both industry and society, Kelvin provided practical guidance on how participants can present their ideas strategically and compellingly. Through his coaching on story structure, message clarity, and confidence-building strategies for Q&A, he helped participants enhance their delivery and improve their overall presentation performance – particularly in relation to winning the support of the judges at the final stage.

During the interactive session, participants demonstrated strong engagement in the workshop with Kelvin. The session also contributed meaningfully to participants’ storytelling capabilities, enabling them to refine their narratives and present their innovation more effectively.
