In this interactive session, participants will gain insights into how to calculate unit costs, translate costs into pricing decisions, and balance financial sustainability with social impact. The workshop is particularly relevant for those who are developing or managing impact-driven projects, social enterprises, or community initiatives.
We are pleased to have Mr Timothy Ma, MH, JP as our speaker. With extensive experience in social innovation sector, Mr Ma has supported numerous ventures in strengthening their business models and sustainability strategies. He is also a consultant to several social enterprises funded by CUHK Sustainable Knowledge Transfer Project Fund (S-KPF), bringing valuable practical perspectives to the session.
Whether you are at an early ideation stage or looking to scale an existing initiative, this workshop will provide actionable insights to support your journey towards sustainable impact.

Timothy K. W. Ma is the Founding Executive Director of the Senior Citizen Home Safety Association, where he pioneered the Ping On Chung service, supporting tens of thousands of Hong Kong elders. Under his leadership, the Association became Hong Kong’s largest social enterprise, expanding its model to Mainland China, Macau, and Singapore.
Timothy is currently the Convenor of the Specialized Committee on Elderly Service at The Hong Kong Council of Social Service. He is also a Co-founding Member of the Hong Kong Social Entrepreneurship Forum and serves as a Council Member of the Hong Kong Chamber of Social Enterprises.
In addition, Timothy is a Visiting Lecturer at The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and The City University of Hong Kong, teaching on social innovation and leadership. His ongoing commitment continues to shape the landscape of social enterprise and elderly care in the region.
