Event Highlight | InnoPort Marketing and Branding Academy (MBα) Master Class #1 “Navigating the New Media Landscape of Gen Z & Alpha: Threads, TikTok, Xiaohongshu, YouTube and SEO Strategies” (27 Mar 2025)

On 27 March 2025, InnoPort organized its first Marketing and Branding Master Class, titled “Navigating the New Media Landscape of Gen Z & Alpha: Threads, TikTok, Xiaohongshu, YouTube, and SEO Strategies”, which aimed at equipping people interested in doing start-up business with effective marketing and branding strategies to accelerate growth and enhance their competitive edge in today’s rapidly evolving market. This ground-breaking class attracted a diverse group of marketing professionals, entrepreneurs, and students, fostering a collaborative atmosphere for learning and networking.

Mr. Basil Cheung, Founder and Brand Consultant at Elio Brand Consultancy and a Lecturer at the School of Journalism and Communication at CUHK, delivered a captivating sharing on the latest social data trends in the new era. He discussed the emerging propositions of new media, including Threads, Little Red Note and TikTok, in contrast to “older” media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Through intriguing case studies, Basil provided valuable insights into what Generation Z and Alpha expect to see from new media, emphasizing the need for brands to adapt to these evolving preferences.

Mr. Sammy Chan, Founder of Big Jump SEO Solutions and Lead of Organic Channels at Bowtie Life Insurance Company, shared his expertise on crafting effective SEO strategies across various social media platforms. He went beyond sharing his experiences and provided guidance on how to build a well-structured SEO approach that can significantly enhance brand visibility and engagement.
