The Final Pitch cum Award Ceremony of the Vice Chancellor’s Cup of Student Entrepreneurship (VCCE) 2025–26 was successfully held on 28 April 2026, celebrating the creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) students.
The ceremony was officiated by Professor Dennis Lo Yuk-ming, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK, who addressed the audience with encouraging remarks that underscored the importance of innovation and perseverance, setting an inspiring tone for the event.
This year’s competition attracted 63 submissions from 206 students across all faculties, offering a wealth of innovative, cross-disciplinary ideas with strong potential. Following the selection round, 14 finalist teams advanced to the final pitch, where they presented their ventures before a distinguished panel. After the final pitch, three outstanding project teams emerged as award winners, recognized for their exceptional performance and entrepreneurial vision.
Jointly organized by the Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) and the Center for Entrepreneurship (CfE), the VCCE has, for nearly two decades, served as a distinguished platform nurturing entrepreneurial spirit and cross-disciplinary collaboration at CUHK. Through thoughtfully designed activities, the competition not only deepens students’ understanding of entrepreneurship but also challenges their creativity and resilience as they embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.
This year’s edition once again highlighted the wealth of innovative ideas emerging from CUHK, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all awardees for their remarkable achievements.

On 18 April 2026, the HKUST Entrepreneurship Center hosted the Hult Prize Hong Kong Summit 2026 at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. This regional event brought together outstanding student entrepreneurs, ;global mentors, and impact investors in a vibrant platform dedicated to social innovation and sustainable change. As part of the world’s largest student startup competition — often hailed as the “Nobel Prize for Students” — the Summit celebrates purpose-driven ventures that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and showcases how business can be a force for good.
This year’s challenge invited participants to pitch bold, world-changing ideas for social enterprises that advance at least one SDG, with 17 semi-finalist teams competing for the top honors. Two outstanding teams from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) — Digital Common(s) and Thorani — reached the final round and impressed the judges with their innovative solutions. In the end, Thorani won the Champion, while Digital Common(s) secured the position of First Runner-up, earning CUHK both of the top two prizes at the Summit.
Thorani’s victory propels them forward to the global stage, advancing to Digital Incubator and bringing them one step closer to the Hult Prize Global Accelerator for the chance to win USD $1 million in seed funding.
About Hult Prize:
