SpeakerMs Cecilia HoPresident, Lee Hysan Foundation
Cecilia is the President of Lee Hysan Foundation. She is a member of the Security Bureau’s Fight Crime Committee, an advisor to Our Hong Kong Foundation, and a member of HKCSS’s Strategy Committee on Co-Creation. She also serves on advisory committees at HKU’s Department of Social Work and Social Administration and HKAPA’s School of Drama.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Cecilia had a distinguished career spanning over three decades in globally renowned financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and Standard Chartered Bank. She earned her BBA with honors from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and was presented the Hall of Honor by the University’s College of Business in 2010. She was awarded the Honorary University Fellowship by HKU in 2019 and the University Fellowship by PolyU in 2024.

The Funder Insights Webinar Series: Social Impact Partners welcomed approximately 30 participants on 16 July 2025. Ms Lillian Li, Executive Director of Social Impact Partners (SIP), delivered an insightful presentation, sharing SIP’s background, mission, and philosophy of impact investment. A key focus was the Dual Value Proposition, emphasising a balanced approach to profit and social impact, which ensures financial sustainability alongside measurable social impact.
Lillian also explored the spectrum of capital, providing a detailed overview of the funding landscape for impact projects and ventures in Hong Kong. This empowered participants to identify suitable funding models tailored to their initiatives, enhancing their ability to secure support for impactful projects and ventures.
The Q&A session was highly engaging, with many participants raising questions, particularly about SIP’s mechanism for investing in social enterprises, reflecting strong interest in this area.
The webinar fostered valuable discussions, equipping attendees with practical strategies to align their projects with appropriate funding opportunities. Co-organized with 15 local tertiary institutions, including CUHK, the event was officiated by Prof. Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, HKSAR as the Guest of Honour. Hon. Duncan Chiu, Legislative Council Member – Technology & Innovation Constituency and Prof. Mai-har Sham, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research) of CUHK also joined as the on-stage guest to launched the Global University Innovation Network (GUIN) and celebrated a decade of Techathon+ fostering innovation.
GUIN, a collaboration with global universities, promotes entrepreneurial education and research commercialization, enhancing Hong Kong’s global I&T presence. Techathon+ 2025 engaged over 1,800 innovators across 380+ teams, pitching solutions in AI, sustainability, digital economy, and smart cities. CUHK startups showcased innovations, aligning with Hong Kong’s STEM priorities. The event highlighted HKSTP’s role in nurturing talent and kick-starting one of the flagship innovation events in Hong Kong.

SpeakerMr Matthew LeeAssistant Vice President, HKEX Foundation
Matthew Lee is the Assistant Vice President of the HKEX Foundation, which established in 2020 to address social and environmental challenges by supporting local charities and social enterprises in launching over 100 community projects.
Prior to joining HKEX Foundation in 2021, Matthew was with different corporate and family foundations while serving over 15 years in social work profession. His diverse community service background contributed to his role as a part-time lecturer and fieldwork supervisor, where he also founded a social enterprise.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Social Work from The University of Hong Kong and a Master of Arts in Social Service Management from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

On July 16, the “Publishing 3.0+ –HK Smart e-Book Hub “Launch Ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wanchai, as part of the Hong Kong Book Fair 2025. The ceremony was officiated by Miss. Rosanna LAW, JP, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, who delivered the opening address. The ceremony featured distinguished speakers including Hon. Kenneth FOK, BBS, JP, Chairman of “Publishing 3.0+”, and Hon. Duncan CHIU, both Legislative Council members, alongside Mr. Rashid Al Kous, representative from the UAE Publishers Association, who served as a keynote speaker. The event attracted notable international participation, with representatives from copyright associations across the UAE, Singapore, United Kingdom, Malaysia and Japan attending to witness this pivotal moment for Hong Kong’s publishing sector.
The current “Publishing 3.0+” initiative will comprehensively enhance the application of artificial intelligence by integrating technologies from the Hong Kong Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM) and CUHK-bred AI unicorn SenseTime Group Limited. This initiative aims to improve content conversion and translation capabilities to help the industry expand into the Belt and Road and other overseas markets. Our office’s new publication, 《「學人」搞社創2.0》, was invited to participate in the project by tagging the AI techniques’ text-to-speech translation function.
Miss. Rosanna LAW outlined the plans for developing large language models to strengthen multilingual translation and content conversion capabilities, further enhancing the quality of e-books and audiobooks. The initiative aims to showcase 10,000 e-books and audiobooks at international book fairs within the coming months, demonstrating Hong Kong’s expanded digital publishing capacity.
The “Publishing 3.0+” launch ceremony represents a transformative moment for Hong Kong’s creative industries, demonstrating the successful integration of cutting-edge technology with traditional publishing practices. Through strategic international partnerships, comprehensive AI implementation, and ambitious expansion goals, this initiative positions Hong Kong as a global leader in digital publishing innovation while preserving and promoting cultural exchange across diverse linguistic communities.
