HA Data Access

Hospital Authority Remote Data Access

Overview
The Self-service Data Platform (the Platform) has been set up by HA Data Collaboration Laboratory (HADCL), with an aim to enable researchers to draft research hypothesis and proposals, and make research study by using the sample data in Statistical Analysis System (SAS) Viya platform.

In response to researchers’ demand for a more convenient access, remote access to the Platform has been established for enhancing the data accessibility. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is authorized to have remote access to the Self-service Data Platform. Located in InnoPort, the remote centre is now officially open to access for CUHK researchers of all disciplines. Users must adhere to the security policy, rules and regulations set out by HADCL and The Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services (ORKTS).

Target Participants
Current academic staff & researchers in CUHK who would like to

  • draft research hypothesis / proposal but do not have experience using HA clinical data
  • make research study by using the sample data provided*

*Ethics approval will be required for research study and/or publication using the sample data in the Self-service Data Platform.

Types of Data
The sample data is made of structured data from around 200,000 patients randomly selected from the patient populations of 2007 and 2017, stratified by age and gender. They include:
