CUbicZine Human Library Talk Series

Where CUHK scholars become living books —
sparking curiosity and connection through real stories.

Building on the publication of CUbicZine: Scholars Driving Social Innovation 2.0, the Human Library Talk Series transforms the social innovation practices featured in the book into live, face‑to‑face dialogues.

Each session opens a “living book” — a CUHK scholar sharing stories across five key themes: creative thinking, environmental sustainability, social inclusion, holistic well‑being, and culture & lifestyle — reflecting the University’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and social impact in action.
The Human Library embodies CUHK’s core strengths — whole‑person education, entrepreneurial spirit, and interdisciplinary collaboration — turning scholarly knowledge into interactive learning experiences that nurture growth and innovation. Since November 2025, the talks have already engaged nearly 4,000 students, inspiring them to create positive social impact.

Testimonial

"Thanks again for KTO on having me. It is really my great honor and the interaction with Kit and students is a good reflection for myself too.

I would like to share a quote that has motivated me throughout my journey: “Follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be” (Joseph Campbell).

When I first embarked on the work of promoting advance care planning nearly two decades ago, I did not envision my career development or the social impact that might emerge from this path. The journey has been neither linear nor easy; however, it is a deeply rooted sense of purpose that has sustained me. "

"It was a privilege to discuss the interchange between artistry and entrepreneurship alongside Gigi Morales. The live performance with Jayson Chan (KALOS) and Kelvin Wong (wePaint) was a beautiful representation of collaboration in action. I hope our presentation sparked ideas and encouraged everyone to explore their creative paths. Thank you to KTO InnoPort and Shaw College."

"Thank you to the InnoPort team for organizing such a meaningful session of the “CUbicZine Human Library” talk at Lee Woo Sing College. I truly appreciated the opportunity to engage with students and exchange perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in building socially driven businesses. It reminded me of the importance of balancing empathy and sustainability in entrepreneurship.

It was inspiring to see students’ curiosity and enthusiasm toward social innovation — a reflection of how well InnoPort fosters purposeful and forward-looking discussions at CUHK."
